Take a horseback riding
expedition deep into the Mayan Jungle, far away
from the hustle and bustle of the cruise ships
and the beach hotels, to one of the most sacred
of all creations in Mayan folklore - the cenote.
These freshwater sinkholes were a godsend for
the early settlers of Cozumel, as they brought
fresh water to the people, and were even used
for sacrifices. Then visit a small Mayan
Cave, where your tour guide will explain to you
it's significance.
Your tour guide will also
share with you facts about the flora and fauna
of Cozumel's jungle, and historical tidbits
about the island. When you reach the
cenote, you will have an opportunity to swim in
it's fresh waters for about 20 minutes before
riding back through the jungle to the ranch.
