Prepare for a special experience during your

Ria Maya will take you to the North end of the
Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico, to the Rio Lagartos
Flamingo Preserve. Experience the natural
marvels of the Biosphere as you explore the
mangroves and delight in the wildlife sightings
that abound. Then visit the colonial Mayan
town of Tizimin, and take a therapeutical Mayan
bath in the natural salt waters to round off a
day of exploration and ecology.
Ria Maya Tour Highlights
Take
a boat trip through the mangroves to observe the
famous flamingo colonies and many more of
the 375 species of birds that inhabit Rio
Lagartos. If you're lucky, you might spot
a crocodile!
Tour
the colonial Mayan village of Tizimin,
and see its cathedral, town square and market!
Enjoy
a hot-cooked meal of grilled seafood at a
local Mayan restaurant!
Take
a therapeutical Mayan bath in the natural
salt springs where you can float without effort,
then complete this ancient Mayan ritual by
Purifying your body with a dip in the waters of
the Gulf of Mexico!
When: Tuesdays,
Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 6:00 AM to 8:00
PM. We can do a private tour for groups on
any day.
Where: Meet at the ferry terminal
in Playa del Carmen.
You will need to take the passenger ferry over from
Cozumel on your own to meet this tour.
